About the Antlers Library Board
Established in 1973, the Antlers Library Board plays a unique and important role in our community. Unlike many municipal library boards in Oklahoma, ours was created as a governing board—not just advisory—giving it a meaningful voice in shaping library services.
This distinction comes from Ordinance 61, now part of the city’s public facilities code, which officially recognized the library as a standalone public facility, separate from other city departments.
Thanks to this strong foundation and ongoing collaboration with city leadership, the board continues to support and guide the library's mission to serve the people of Antlers and Pushmataha County.
The library board is supported by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, which provides a collection of Laws & Regulations Affecting Oklahoma Libraries.
All Antlers Library policies are reviewed and approved by the Library Board.
Library Board meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm unless otherwise noted on the agenda. They are open to any who wishes to attend. The meeting is held in the library community room unless it is booked for an event. In that case, the meeting will be moved to the City Hall Council room.
If you would like to address the Library Board, please contact the library at least 5 business days prior to the meeting to be added to the agenda.
